Enhancing Control Over Product Visibility Across Meta Channels
Every product listed in your catalog on Meta platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, inherits visibility settings based on the seller’s configurations. By default, your products are displayed according to the capabilities associated with the Shopify channels to which you've been onboarded.
To customize which channels should display your products, use the 'disabled_capabilities' attribute. This allows you to specify which product capabilities to disable, preventing them from appearing in certain shopping environments on Meta platforms.
Implementing 'Disabled_Capabilities' in Your Product Feeds
- Create a Shopify Metafield: Begin by establishing a metafield on your Shopify Custom data page. This metafield should hold the capabilities you intend to disable. Opt for a 'Single line text: List of values' as the metafield type to allow multiple entries.
- Map Metafields in Flexify: After creating your metafield, go to the Flexify settings page. Here, map your new Shopify metafield to the 'disabled_capabilities' field. This integration ensures that the attributes you define in Shopify are accurately reflected in your product feed.
For detailed instructions on how to set up and map fields in Flexify, visit our guide on Automatically Setting Catalog Fields.
Capabilities You Can Disable:
- mini_shops: Exclude products from Shops on Facebook or Instagram.
- marketplace_shops: Prevent products from appearing in the Marketplace.
- ig_product_tagging: Disable Instagram product tagging.
- da: Remove products from appearing in Advantage+ catalog ads.
- others.
By effectively using the 'disabled_capabilities' feature, you ensure that your products are only visible in the desired channels, helping to target your advertising efforts more precisely and maintain control over your product presentation.
Important: Please be aware that the 'disabled_capabilities' attribute can only be used with the Stand-alone mode feed and custom-made Facebook catalogs. Due to specific requirements from Meta, this attribute does not apply to Supplementary feeds and Shopify Product Catalogs that are automatically created via the Facebook and Instagram sales channel.
